How To Find Cheap Repositioning Cruises

How To Find Cheap Repositioning Cruises

A while ago I saw a sale for a $149 (pp) cruise from the Mediterranean to the US, and it piqued my interest in finding repositioning cruise deals.

Essentially, a repositioning cruise is often a discounted cruise that is a oneway instead of a roundtrip because the cruise line is transitioning the ship to a different region, to take advantage of a different peak season. The deal I saw was a ship that was moving to the Caribbean for winter.

While the deal from Europe didn't work out for us, I got to thinking that it might be a fun way to get home from Europe, and somehow even cheaper than the average flight (despite including stops in the Mediterranean and days of food).

List Of Airline Miles Stopover Rules

List Of Airline Miles Stopover Rules

I first posted a "list of stopover rules" 6 or 7 years ago, and recently realized how out of date the list was (it included US Airways).

Today I'm posting an updated list, but below I also include more details from the terms and conditions.

(Note that this is completely different that the List of Round The World Tickets with Miles, and ANA is the only RTW ticket I'll include).

The other thing I try to do in this updated list of stopover and open-jaw rules, is to only source my information directly from the airline programs (or my own testing/research).

A Data-Driven Look At Delta SkyMiles

A Data-Driven Look At Delta SkyMiles

In the process of making the Delta Miles Calculator and Delta Miles Award Chart, I learned a lot about Delta and their program.

I thought it would be great to do a post on data and stats that went into creating the Calculator and Award Chart. How often are awards available? Which types of awards have availability? How do the award prices compare to another program, like AA? What are my observations while making the tools?

Once again, this is a data-driven look at these questions and this time at the Delta Miles program in general.

A Guide To Earning IHG Points

A Guide To Earning IHG Points

I've recently written a number of posts about earning IHG points, and since it was such a big part of us living in luxury hotels for $600 to $700 a month, I wanted to do a single post on all the ways to earn IHG points. Every IHG points earning strategy in one place.

I'll discuss how with IHG hotels I can get cash back, points for the spend, and then 50,000 points from promotions; credit card perks and comparisons; ways to buy points, and hotels where you'd be profitable buying points; and much more...

I'm resurrecting a series I used to do where the concept is pretty simple: I list frequent flyer mile prices and then discuss details and deals for getting to different regions.

Let's start by dissecting the cheapest miles to Europe!

What are the best airline award charts to Europe in general? What are some mileage discounts and constant promos that you might be able to jump on? Any hidden gems? We'll be looking into it all!

List Of Cheapest Delta Miles Flights

After recently creating the Delta Miles and the Delta Miles Calculator, I realized that there's one piece of information I have unpublished that might be useful.

The Delta Miles Calculator will show a list of cities in order of price. This gives you ideas of where you could cheaply fly to from your home airport. After all, there are many 5,000 mile routes (792, to be exact).

However, some of these deals, international deals in particular, are so good that it might be worth driving a little further than normal, or even worth a positioning flight (I know there are a number of cities I could take a short flight to on Frontier for under $40).

This is a list of...

Map of Travel Destination Ideas

Map of Travel Destination Ideas

This is fulfilling my idea of a map where you can look at a country or area and instantly see great travel recommendations. I think this is so useful for anyone planning travel, that we will eventually put it on the Resource page.

As part of this, I'm including my new project to create a map of curated travel recommendations.

Currently, the other filters, which provide the majority of destinations, are 1) all the National Parks in the world, and 2) all the Unesco World Heritage Sites.

I'll start by just showing the map, and explaining a little more about it.
