I know I’ve talked a lot about double dipping the AAdvantage card, but it is such a good deal and it is always changing. A more in depth post can be found here, however the links have changed a number of times and so this post in an update on that.
In summary, this is a card that gives 50,000 American Airline miles and $100 towards American Airlines. The beautiful thing is that you can get this bonus potentially three times! The loophole is getting two at once – while normally you can only have the Visa or Amex version of the personal card, if you apply at the same time in two different browsers (i.e. Chrome and FireFox) for both personal cards, you can be approved for both. In other words, you would normally be declined for one if you already have the other but if you do both at the same time, you can get approved for both. What makes it better is that by doing the trick in two browsers it only does one hard pull on your credit score.
To make things even better, in 90 days one could apply for the Business Card version of this card. I’m told you should have something to prove your business but the simple answer is that you just put your SSN in for the business number and your name for the business. I had no problem getting this as a business card too.
This could potentially give 150,000+ AA miles and $300 toward AA and some other goodies, like the example below which gives 2 lounge passes.
Here is the flyertalk thread ont the situation. But to make it easy (and imho, the best options): here is the Visa; and here is the Amex; and here is the business Visa. For the First two: Earn 40,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles after spending $2,000 within 4 months of cardmembership. Earn an additional 10,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles after spending $5,000 during the first 12 months of cardmembership. That’s more than enough for a domestic round-trip flight award. For the Business Card: “$150 statement credit for the first eligible AA purchase made within 12 months of cardmembership, 50k miles after $3,000 in purchases within the first 4 months, 2 AC passes.”
This bonus for most people is a little easier, although there are a few other options collected in this flyertalk post. The card has no annual fee for the first year and then $85 on the personal and $75 on the business. It might be worth keeping one of these a second year seeing as they added some new passive benefits like 10% of your points back and a few other perks. Again, this is a good deal and if your going to be applying for cards anyways, this is the best Citi option.
My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find almost all of your post’s to be just what I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content available for you? I wouldn’t mind producing a post or elaborating on many of the subjects you write about here. Again, awesome web site!
