Gary Leff (of VFTW) originally broke the news on Hyatt acquiring Two Roads Hospitality… Well, he also reported that Alila Hotels Joined Hyatt Rewards.
Some of the hotels are going to get added next month (for which Gary lists the dates), but the majority are currently bookable with Hyatt points.
So I did two things.
First, I added the hotels currently bookable to the Hyatt Complete Map (you can find all hotels’ complete maps on the Resource page).
Second, I wanted to show the values of the new hotels being added. Since I recently went through all Hyatt hotels redemption values where I found the rates for all Hyatt hotels (and used the data to post the Cheapest Hyatt Hotels as well).
So, below is a table with the lowest cash rates of all the Alila hotels and the points value based on the lowest rate.
Immediately I see two aspirational hotel redemptions.

Conclusion / The Two High Value Hotels
The number one stand out hotel to me is Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali, Indonesia.
In case you aren’t familiar with Uluwatu in Bali, this is an area of extremely scenic cliffs at the very southern tip of Bali. It’s absolutely stunning and it’s a part of an island near the airport, making it accessible for most people, and not one of the junky crowded touristy beaches Bali is known for in the South.
The problem with Uluwatu is that it’s limited real estate is monopolized with $600+ a night hotels and until now, none of them were available on points.
Alila Villas Uluwatu with Hyatt points gives points people an option to stay on the Uluwatu cliffs without spending a fortune.
The second stand out aspirational redemption is the Ventana Big Sur an Alila Resort, which is a resort on the California coast between the mountains and sea.
This is a beautiful part of the country and the rooms bookable with points are actually worth more than the lowest rate I found, often $1,000 a night! (So this hotel throws off the point values, as the more expensive room is the one on points, when normally if the cheapest room is sold out, the points option is gone).
Obviously there are other interesting hotels, particularly increasing Hyatt’s presence in Asia. For example, I think the hotel in Yangshuo would be really interesting, but we don’t know those values yet. This is an amazingly beautiful part of China that I’d love to return to, and this will give a points option.
I’ve been told by Hyatt Concierge on Twitter that the benefits for World of Hyatt members will mirror the benefits for SLH.
“World of Hyatt members receive on-property benefits including complimentary continental breakfast, complimentary Wi-Fi, early check-in (based on availability at check-in), late check out (based on availability at check-in), and a one category room upgrade (based on availability at check-in).”
If this is true even the lowest level member would have access to free breakfast, upgrade, early check-in, and late checkout…. which would be huge! They’ve yet to publish the benefits, but Hyatt Concierge confirmed that my Explorist level would provide free breakfast at Alila!
Sorry @brent you were misinformed. these are part of Hyatt and not partners like MGM and SLH so benefits are exactly same as Hyatt hotels get.
The big problem with Uluwatu is that you’re really isolated. If that’s what you’re looking for, you win. It just seems a little counterintuitive to fly all the way to Bali to plant yourself in a place that’s unusually poorly located to enjoy so much of what the island has to offer.
