Another airline that did away with their traditional award chart is American Airlines, so I again decided to make one of my own.
Bookmark this page if you want quick access to an American Airlines OneWorld Award Chart.
This post covers the following:
- OneWorld Award Chart
- AA Award Chart (with off-peak prices)
- AA Off-Peak Dates
- OneWorld Regional Discounts
The only thing not covered in the following OneWorld Award Chart (although it is mentioned again below), is that Europe is the one region that has off-peak prices for all partners, not just AA flights.

Savings By Using American Airlines (instead of a OneWorld partner):
If you use American Airline AAdvantage Miles for an American Airlines flight, instead of using your AAdvantage Miles for a partner you save 2,500 miles:
AA flights are 2,500 miles cheaper for:
- Mexico – Economy, Business, and First
- Central America – Economy, Business, and First
- Caribbean – Economy, Business, and First
- Asia 2 (China & Hong Kong) – Economy
And, as shown in the chart above, domestic flights under 500 miles are cheaper.

Yep. For those that prefer 15 different oneworld charts, that’s the page to go to.
Personally, I prefer to have a singular award chart to quickly compare prices with.
Hey Drew, Is there any way to piece AA awards together? For instance, I see a bunch of Economy MileSAAver flights from NYC to MIA as well as MIA to CUN. I wish I could piece together my preferred segments as one AA award. I’d make sure the layover time would be less than 4 hours, if that’s a rule. (I know that an easy work-around is booking individual flights using BA. But is it possible to create such an itinerary if it doesn’t show up as a choice on AA.com?) Don’t know if you have any experience with that. Tnx
With Air Berlin being defunct, regional flights within Germany should no longer be possible.
