I want to be clear that this is a post about the cheapest hotels to earn Hyatt points (instead of “cheapest Hyatt hotels”) because some are SLH hotels, and by far the cheapest hotels are the MGM Resorts in Las Vegas.
This examines the same data from my Data-Driven Look At Best Hyatt Hotels. It’s basically the same thing I did with Cheapest IHG Hotels, which I personally found very useful as I’m constantly chasing IHG promotions. This shows me some hot spots where, if nearby (or if someone I know is nearby), it’s worth paying for a few stays with the right promo.
Similarly, with Hyatt, it might be even more useful for someone chasing status.
So here is a list of hotels you can book on Hyatt.com, earning Hyatt points. Particularly this will show the cheapest hotels to book.
Note that these are the lowest rates we found. Some of these rates are common, some are uncommon. Nonetheless, these rates were found bookable on Hyatt.com.
For example, one of the cheapest hotels on the list is the JDV Hotel Lincoln in Chicago. Normally this hotel has an average rate of $212. But on Nov 25th, the rate is $46. (Originally this rate was available all winter, but right now the low rate is normally $61).

Conclusion / Best Hotels?
The hotels in Vegas are cheap but awful, in my opinion. The cheapest is the Excalibur and when we stayed there, there wasn’t even wifi offered!
Also, most of these rates are off-peak season. Like Sanya, China is a beach town and low rates are mostly winter.
So where are some hotels I’d want to stay a while?
Per usual though, there are some awesome cities and awesome hotels for cheap in China. For example there are many hotels in the great city of Shanghai and then there are nice looking hotels, like the Hyatt Regency Zhenjiang.
Malaysia and Indonesia have some cheap hotels. Kuala Lumpur is a great city and then there is the Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort in Borneo, which looks awesome and is also only 5,000 points.
We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta for awhile while sick, and therefore ironically never went to see the temples before we left. So I plan on going back soon to do that. The hotel gave us lounge access, which was a big bonus.
Hyatt Regency Amritsar could also be a good spot. I love Amritsar purely because the Golden Temple is an amazing place, and we spent many hours at the temple on different days. Otherwise, not much in the city, but it was also our gateway into the Indian mountains.
In the US the cheapest hotels are in Vegas, Chicago, Phoenix, Houston and Dallas.
I guess the other big question, if not which are the best hotels to earn points/elite nights, is which are the cheapest hotels that have consecutive cheap rates. This way you can check in once and get lots of elite night credits.
While I know many people who chase Hyatt status and need 10 days or so of elite night credit at the end of the year, for me I don’t chase status, and I don’t find their promotions generally worth mattress running.
However, I’m hoping there are many others out there who could use this data and do need a bunch of cheap stays.
If not, hopefully I’ll get around to your brand soon. :-p
What about resort fees and taxes? Big in Vegas.
I wondered the same thing. Those can add up in Vegas.
$40 per night at Excalibur…totally changes the equation, sadly 🙁
Resort fees are excessive. The pseudo Hyatts in Las Vegas should not be on this list. The Hyatts in Indonesia are franchises and aren’t owned by Hyatt. Sometimes they honor Globalist benefits; more often they do not.
Just wanted to say while this is great, Hyatt regency kuantan is not in Borneo. That is Hyatt regency Kinabalu. However, both are in Malaysia.
The $46 at Hotel Lincoln appears to be $76 now. And I don’t see anywhere near that rate for the Fulton Market property unfortunately. Although I only checked a few winter months.
WIthout taxes, this list is not particularly helpful
