IHG’s PointBreaks, a list of hotels bookable for 5,000 IHG points from now until Feb 28, is now live for booking. Click Here to see the list and find bookings.
Sorry this map took longer to get up than the last one (was away from the internet for a while), but it just went live. But just like the last one, I don’t see anything that aligns with my travel plans for the rest of the year. And there’s not a lot of great redemptions on this list, represented by only two IC’s being on the list. And of the two, the one in Merida is a long ways away from downtown Merida (which is a cool downtown area, btw). And the other is in Egypt and is commonly $65. The cheapest IC in the world, I think.
The ones that are tempting to me, if in the area, are:
- Crowne Plaza Lyon
- Crowne Plaza Liege
- Crowne Plaza Helsinki
- Holiday Inn Express Silom, Bangkok
- Staybridge Suites Birmingham
- Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi (maybe?)
- Also not sure about the location of the Holiday Inn in Moscow
But if this fits your travel needs, 5,000 points is unbeatable! And if you’re new to this and need to learn how to “buy” 5,000 points for $35, read this introductory post on IHG PointBreaks.
“STAYBRIDGE SUITES WILMINGTON EAST” is showing near Chapel Hill, NC, ~150 miles off target 🙂
Do Pointsbreak award nights count as nights or stays towards the “Into the Nights” promotion?
No.
I feel the same about this list, especially. I had to stay in a somewhat-local Holiday Inn off the last list the other night, just so I’d feel like the entire thing wasn’t a waste. Sadly, this list will probably work out the same way because it doesn’t fit into any of my existing travel plans either :-/.
…and on a side note, the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS AND SUITES BROOKSVILLE WEST in Florida is either missing on the map, or somehow wound up somewhere else ;-p
Wanted to chime in about the location of Holiday Inn in Moscow. I’ve researched this hotel for my parents, though they’ve ended up staying in Marriott property. This particular Holiday Inn is located not too far from metro station, which is very important. So, you can get around fairly easily. Traffic in Moscow is horrendous. It’s not near center, but accessible. For 5,000 points it’s a deal imo. It’s also somewhat convenient to Domodedovo airport if that’s where you are flying in.
No “Holiday Inn Express Silom, Bangkok”
“HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS BANGKOK SATHORN” 🙂
This is a wonderful service, and I know it’s quite a bit of work to put together. Some of the locations are not so geographically accurate, though. For example a Holiday Inn Express for Tulsa is located on the map in the heart of Oklahoma City. A Candlewood for the Omaha airport is pinpointed more than halfway across the state of Nebraska. Again, I wouldn’t have the technology skills to do better, but this can be kind of misleading when people zoom in on places.
Almost reserved HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS PAINTED POST – CORNING AREA, which seems to be in Manhattan (in your map) but it actually is in a galaxy far far away 😉 😀
