*Warning: I’m trying to win a contest on most ridiculous post regarding the 30,000 point SPG card! But all facts in here are true facts or close to it! Thanks for inspiring me to share this offer George. (Click here to find out more about George and TBB).*
Once every thousand years (about), American Express releases the Starwood Preferred Guest card with a 30,000 point bonus! Click here to apply for this amazing offer. Once approved you will be given 30,000 Starwood Points, the most valuable rewards program to start since Christianity began.
Earn up to 30K bonus Starpoints®:10K after your first purchase and 20K after you spend $5K in purchases on the card within the first 6 months.
Starwood Points really are pretty sweet. And after meeting your spend you’ll have 35,000 points. In my opinion you can go about spending these three ways.
1) Transfer to your second favorite airline!
But it gets better. For every 20,000 points you transfer you get a 5,000 point bonus. So make it a 40,000 mile bonus. Or spend just $5,000 more points and you’ll have 40,000 Starwood points, which would be 50,000 miles.
(Seriously this time, read the Complete List of Programs Equal to or Better Than United Miles).
2) Use at low level hotels. Redemptions start at 2,000 points!
That’s right, 2,000 points for a free night. 30,000 divided by 2,000 equals 15 free nights. Actually cash & points rewards start at 1,500 points.
3) It’s good for at least one night at some shwank hotel.
Super shwank folks. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of St. Regis, but SPG is full of luxury hotels. Why are these things not 6 star hotels? We have 6 star airlines now/soon. It’s time that the people in charge of rating hotels (Amex?) come up with 6 stars. If so, this entire chain needs to be moved up a star.
Special occasion coming up? Cash in 30,000 points at a St. Regis in the city of your choosing.
Offer expires soon. Very. Very. Very. Soon! (Sept 3rd). So apply right now. This moment. Via this link.
Listen. The last time they had this offer, there was a 5,000 point bonus for referring a friend. This was a great idea in theory but it didn’t work out and they discontinued it. Why didn’t it work out?
Listen. Only so many people were signing up because most everyone already had the card. This meant that there were more people pushing the card than applying for the card. What if you had two friends pushing the same card? Think about it!
It caused a great divide. In the center was
Jerusalem FlyerTalk. So Pope Urban II BoardingArea set out to conquer it. The Turks InternetBrands fought back selling ad space all over, making United ads popup on my freaking flyertalk posts. 5 to a page. During this time many kingdoms loyalty programs (Hilton), mistake fares, fuel dumps, gift cards, shopping portal tricks, two browser tricks, multiple AA cards, million mile status with card earnings, grandslam promotions, and the US mint all came to a burning end.
… This has gotten so ridiculous that I don’t even know what I’m talking about anymore.
If you want the stupid 30,000 point SPG card sign up for it. It’s a good deal. If not… meh, it will be back in a thousand years anyways.
