Compared to my other Central/South American experiences, I didn’t fall in love with Chile… except for the mountains. Patagonia will draw me back with out doubt. The food wasn’t my thing, the water was too cold, the weather is too extreme but I always love mountains. So I’ll keep this post short on words and with a few extra photos.
Before returning to Chile we visited Valparaiso, an extremely colorful town on the coast. And then headed to Pisco Elqui, a tiny little mountain town located in the Elqui Valley an area that survives off wine exports. From there we did day trips, one day hiking into the mountains on our own where we saw a panther and I was the only one who didn’t see a herd of giant jackrabbits… I don’t know how one misses such a thing but I did.
